Amber's Impact

Learning to Tie my Shoe Again

Learning something new can be fun. It can also be exhausting.

Re-learning something is frustrating.

When I had to learn to tie my shoes as a kid was cute to the teacher or my parents. Now, relearning how to the my shoes as an adult? That was humbling.

The same way how it’s humbling to learn to become Amber. My brain was damage but it wasn’t gone. All the skills are still there, it would just take practice.

I dug up the mental strength to get focused on returning back to Amber. But I was beyond frustrated, why couldn’t I do something that I used to do so easily?

I began to play the blame game and feel sorry for myself. That is not what I’ve been taught to do when I’m frustrated.

Relearning to tie my shoes was beyond frustrating. In comparison to now, I wonder why I was so frustrated.

When I look back on my life, I have learned to be the best I can be. Always. Recently, I have not. So what do I do?

Pray.

I have learned to give all my worries to God. If I trust in Him so strongly, He will answer on His own time. Just like tying my shoes again, I have to be confident in my abilities and trust God
