Everyone loves a good comeback story—but no one would choose to get hit at 109 mph to get through the struggle to make it necessary. The struggle to comeback was not ideal.

I didn’t choose to have my life turned upside down. I didn’t ask for my independence to be ripped from me, for my brain to get overwhelmed at the thought of multiple tasks. I didn’t beg for my teaching position to be ripped from me. Even though I didn’t ask for it, all of this happened.

I chose to tell my story. I decided to start my story over. I made my comeback. And I shared it.

Life is a series of choices. Yes, things happen unexpectedly. But what you choose after they happen, how it will determine your future.

God gave me an opportunity to choose with my own free will. I could have chosen not to try. I could have preferred to not get out of bed. I didn’t have to follow God’s Word, and there were times I didn’t. I chose the wrong path. The path of anger and questioning was a dead end street that I turned on a few times.

The dead end road did not have much scenery. However, I did not choose it often. I chose a different direction. I rose, rehabbed, and rebuilt. I am trying to make an impact. What will you choose?

How to Write Your Own Comeback Story

  1. Decide You Have a Story
  • How will it help others? Make a comeback that is believable. Your story is unique.
  • No matter how big of a hole you’re in, you can climb your way out!
  1. Choose It’s Not Over
  • Find the strength to resurrect from a low place.
  • Take baby steps, not leaps. Be patient.
  1. Bolster Your Strength
  • See pieces of the “why” your struggle happened.
  • How did your story build you to make an impact?

Your comeback starts now.

Through faith and determination, create a story worth hearing and telling.

Let’s take the first step, not take a leap, together.
