Keep Praying: God Answers in His Time

Jesus told a parable of the unjust judge and persistent widow. Basically, in summary, when we pray, we become weary because our prayers aren’t answered. The judge, God, may be slow, but if we stay patient, He answers whether it’s immediate or later on. Just know that God will eventually answer.

Example: just last night, our baby wouldn’t sleep. She was very fussy, fed/changed, comforted, everything. Just like us with God, all our needs are provided, but we may not be satisfied. I prayed and asked God to help so we could sleep. My husband took her downstairs, she stopped crying, I slept for 2 hours straight, which is remarkable as a parent of a new born. She went right to sleep with my husband in her swing.

So what did I learn from all this? God does not answer right away for a reason. God answers on His own time to greater serve us. He obviously knew I was going to hear this reading. I am still learning prayer life is very powerful, but just as God told me in mass—you may not hear His answer immediately, but He always answers in some way. It’s just not on our own time.

Long story longer; the main lesson from this: we are not alone—keep bothering God, as my pastor says.

Remember always: Philippians do not worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.
