ALWAYS FIND A POSITIVE TO EVERY SITUATION

Being a mom is the greatest thing ever. Being a mom is also the most exhausting thing ever. But be positive because YOU HAVE AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN GOD’S GREATEST CREATION—NEW LIFE!!! !

It is very overwhelming, but it doesn’t have to be. Most people think ”It’s supposed to be this way”, maybe it is, but IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE.

Maybe it’s because I just journaled and meditated. Maybe it’s because I’m going loony due to lack of sleep. Whatever it is, I’m here writing to help me remember and to help others.

Breast feeding

  • remember to pack snacks
  • Feed in nursery NO MATTER HOW TIRED YOU ARE (for now. Maybe once breast feeding is established, reevaluate
  • Wash things (like nipple pad covers) in bathroom sink
  • Play calming classical music
    • Or a podcast
  • Read a book while breast feeding, just have it out already
  • breast feeding essentials
    • Have a separate bag with
      • Nipple cream
      • Nipple pads
      • Burping cloth
      • Pads for leakage (big booby probs)
      •  Burping cloth
      • Snacks & water (breast feeding makes you hungry and thirsty)

Mental health

  • take 3 deep breaths
  • Journal
    • Very important to remain nice to all
    • Pray always God will help, all you have to do is ask
      • Pray out of habit, NOT just necessity
  • Stay positive, say a positive, something to make you smile

Rest

  • you can and will clot if you don’t sit down
    • Been there, done that
  • Make sure to sit once you feel overwhelmed or tired
    • Color, watch tv, try not to be on your phone with your baby, read a book

Workout

  • pelvic floor exercises (appropriate and therapist approved)
  • Dynamic breathing
  • Cat/cow
  • Belly breathing (on all fours, like cat cow)
  • Pelvic tilts
  • Modified bird dog
  • FOCUS ON DEEP BREATHING
    • don’t do too much but this will help, even if you don’t sweat

Communicate positively

  • still respond and talk kindly to others
  • You don’t have to drop off the face of the earth but take a break from your phone THATS PROBABLY A SIGN YOU NEED TO IN GENERAL

I understand that it’s important to keep routine and habits, but be willing to let them change. Take a deep breath move on, pray, and tell yourself it’s okay.
